Choosing workwear materials
Material selection is important to ensure the functionality, durability and comfort of your workwear. Different materials have different properties, so it is important to know which ones are best for specific working conditions.
Cotton:
- Advantages: Cotton is a soft, breathable and comfortable material, perfect for everyday wear. It absorbs moisture well and is easy to care for.
- Disadvantages: Cotton is not very resistant to abrasion and tearing, so it is not the best choice for working with sharp or abrasive materials.
Polyester:
- Advantages: Polyester is durable, abrasion-resistant, and quick-drying. It is often used in combination with other materials to improve the durability and functionality of garments.
- Disadvantages: Polyester is not as breathable as cotton and can cause discomfort in hot conditions.
Nylon:
- Advantages: Nylon is very durable and abrasion-resistant, making it ideal for working with abrasive materials. It is also lightweight and quick-drying.
- Disadvantages: Nylon is not as breathable as cotton and can be uncomfortable in hot conditions.
Wool:
- Benefits: Wool is a naturally insulating and breathable material, perfect for cold weather. It is also fire-resistant and naturally antibacterial.
- Disadvantages: Wool can be expensive and require special care.
Elastane (Spandex):
- Benefits: Elastane gives fabrics elasticity and freedom of movement, so it is often used in combination with other materials to improve the fit and comfort of clothing.
- Disadvantages: Elastane is usually used in small quantities, so it is not the main material, but an additive to other fabrics.
